Forensic Psychological Evaluations

A forensic psychological evaluation is an evaluation conducted by a psychologist for the legal system or to answer specific psycholegal questions.

Dr. Bromberg conducts forensic psychological evaluations limited to the following issues:

  • Possible psychological injury of individuals who have been sexually victimized
  • Risk assessment of individuals charged with committing sexual offenses
  • Evaluation of individuals seeking release from Megan's Law requirements
  • Evaluation of parental capacity (in child protective service matters only)

Other Psychological Evaluations

Dr. Bromberg performs evaluations of a non-forensic nature. These evaluations are intended to provide information to parents or caregivers, schools, physicians and other health care providers, and other interested and legally authorized parties about an individual's treatment or educational needs.

Evaluations are limited to the following issues:

  • Assessment of the treatment needs of children and adolescents who have experienced maltreatment
  • Psychosexual evaluation of children, adolescents, and adults
  • Assessment of the developmental status of a child or adolescent

(This may include the following: IQ testing; administration of behavior rating scales, including measures of adaptive behavior; interviews with the child or adolescent, parents or caregivers, and teachers; and collateral information obtained from a pediatrician and other medical and non-medical healthcare providers.)
